Orchestrated version of well-known piece originally written for solo piano by the French composer Maurice Ravel.

KS2 idea: A good listening track to begin to develop an awareness of the sound of instruments such as the French Horn, Flute and Oboe and different instrument families (strings, woodwind, brass) along with use of texture, duration, dynamics and shape of melody.

KS1 idea: listening could focus on gentle, sad, melodic, calm feel and the quiet beginning that gradually grows in volume.
